About
Emmanuel 'Chivo' Lubezki is the only cinematographer in history to win three consecutive Academy Awards for Best Cinematography: Gravity (2013), Birdman (2014), and The Revenant (2015). Born in Mexico City, he is a longtime collaborator of Alfonso Cuarón and Terrence Malick. His credits include Children of Men, The Tree of Life, Y Tu Mamá También, and Sleepy Hollow. Known for his pioneering use of natural light and long uninterrupted takes, Lubezki is widely considered one of the greatest cinematographers working today.
